Zambia Academy of Sciences Hosts STEM Pedagogy Workshop

The Zambia Academy of Sciences, with the support of the Network of African Science Academies (NASAC), held a STEM Pedagogy Workshop at the Grand Palace Hotel, Lusaka, on 11th September 2025. The event brought together educators, policymakers, and experts from the Ministry of Education, National Science Centre (NSC), Curriculum Development Centre (CDC), Zambia National STEM Foundation, DSaT, UNZA, National Science and Technology Council, among others.

The workshop explored Zambia’s STEM education pedagogy, highlighting the new curriculum policy and the shift toward learner-centered teaching approach. Discussions focused on teacher training, curriculum implementation, and improving learning resources, including internet access and producing recommendations to strengthen STEM education across Zambia.

The Zambia Academy of Sciences will continue to work with partners to champion quality STEM education and the professional development of teachers to foster innovation and prepare students for the 21st-century.
